Lorena Sferlazza (she/her) is a visual artist, educator, runner, foodie, and music lover from Norwalk, CT. She is most passionate about building community, with the intention of opening perspectives through art.

As an artist and educator, Lorena creates and guides in-home art programs with teens, families, and adults to help empower their creative abilities and exploration of art.

By day, Lorena works as a proud Visual Art Teacher for her alma mater, Norwalk High School. Lorena transitioned to this role in August 2022 from being the Education Manager for The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum — where she developed and led School, Children, Family, and Access Programs inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions for a wide range of learners.

“I love creative collaborations.

To me, collaborating is exchanging ideas…

in order to develop the most impactful program, then stepping back to allow for magic to happen.

In the beautiful opposites of planning and letting go, we intentionally hold space for connection. We allow each others’ perspectives to shape the conversation. It’s a beautiful exchange.”

- Lorena

In the broader community, Lorena serves as an Inaugural Resident Artist at The Norwalk Art Space, where she taught free high school art classes and supports programs to bridge the education gap for under-resourced youth. Lorena remains engaged in this mission in the LGBTQ community as well, by providing free monthly therapeutic art classes to teens and adults at the Triangle Community Center in Norwalk.
